Kevin Ready

I am a serial entrepreneur - which means that I started my first company when I was 24 years old and have built companies in several industries (and had 3 exits) since then. I am still building startups today, serving as an executive for the latest successful acquisition (Classified Ventures, Chicago). I also have the privilege of being a business advisor and mentor for startups internationally.

I recently wrote the book Startup: An Insider's Guide to Launching and Running a Business, a unique guide that a fellow entrepreneur recently called "The single best book on starting a business that I have ever read." I guarantee that it will improve your business, please check it out.

UT Austin alum - BA'94 and MS Engineering '06. Live in Austin, Texas.

The Real Complexity of Startup Business

Creating business value is a multifaceted process that requires complex problem-solving skills. Companies must deal with two main types of problem solving: delivery of product and discovery of “Market Truth.” This is particularly true for startups, which are still in search of workable new business models that have never been proven before.

Founder's Syndrome: The Third Rail of Startups

Startups are born from a personal vision, but at a certain point, other people’s talents are needed for next steps. This transition from individual to team can be difficult to manage.
