How Much Value Does E-Commerce Add to the U.S. economy? Take a Quick 6 Min Survey

That is what Prof. Anitesh Barua started to wonder after reading the report from the Information Technology & Innovation Foundation about the total size of the U.S. internet economy posted here in the Texas Enterprise blog. Prof. Barua, Ph.D. student Rajiv Mukherjee, and I are currently researching the answer to this question and YOU might be able to help us find out by completing this short survey

Keep in mind that we are not just talking about retail transactions. Interestingly, according to the department of commerce, over 42% of e-commerce activity is business to business (B2B) shipments from manufacturers and 23.4% is B2B shipments from merchant wholesalers. An astonishingly low 4% is from shipments from retailers (B2C).

Due to the nature of the study, only individuals who either work for companies that currently have an e-commerce platform or have participated in building an e-commerce platform are eligible to participate. But, if that is you, we will give a $75 Amazon gift card to one in every ten respondents.

We will close the survey on midnight of October 6th, this Thursday night, so please respond by that time. We will complete the study on the 15th of October and I will blog about our findings. Until then, thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
